DAKAI (Data, Agents, Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence) is a track of the Master’s degree in Computer Science (Master Informatique). It runs over two years of full-time study, four semesters and 120 ECTS credits. Every course is taught in English.

The programme is run by Mines Saint-Étienne – Institut Mines-Télécom and Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne. Several course units are shared with the engineering programme of Mines Saint-Étienne, so DAKAI students attend them alongside its engineering students.

The research thread

Each student chooses a research topic in the first semester and keeps it for eighteen months, until the end of the M2. Over three research project units, the work goes from the state of the art to a research contribution. A faculty researcher supervises each student individually throughout.

  1. M1 · Semester 1 Research project I6 ECTS
  2. M1 · Semester 2 Research project II6 up to 16 ECTS16 with research project II’, taken instead of the internship (10 to 12 weeks, June to August).
  3. M2 · Semester 3 Research project III10 ECTS
  4. M2 · Semester 4 Internship 4 to 6 months, in industry or in a laboratory 30 ECTS

The Research, development and innovation units support the thread in both years, with scientific writing and professional insertion.
